Gift Ideas for Her: What to Buy a Loved One for Christmas

If you are currently on a quest to commence your Christmas shopping ahead of everyone else and get it over with as soon as possible, then you are not alone. There have been reports that some shops have already started getting ready for Christmas and showcasing their festive ranges to over-eager shoppers.

The recent emergence of the American traditions of Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the UK, has only increased the frenzy of commercialism surrounding Christmas in this country. From my own personal experience, many of my friends used Black Friday and Cyber Monday to purchase items for themselves as opposed to taking advantage of the generous discounts for their friends and loved ones. It appears that more and more people are shopping online for Christmas presents and this is only likely to increase in the future.
With this in mind it is worth considering starting your Christmas shopping as early as possible in order to ensure that you aren't scrapping with other desperate shoppers to find something special for the woman in your life. I am more than aware that some will accuse me of being incredibly boring and organised, but in this way you also allow yourself to organise your spending in the build-up to Christmas and grab a bargain for yourself when the online sales get under-way on Christmas Day.
I have decided to put together five of my top gifts ideas for women this Christmas. Many like to claim that men are notoriously difficult to shop for but I would like to dispute this and put it out there that women are actually somewhat impossible to shop for. Last year I decided to splash out on some anti-ageing products for my mother, which I actually considered to be a very generous gift. Turns out she was less than impressed!

I have decided to keep these suggestions fairly broad, so you will need to use your own initiative and decide on a specific gift that you believe to be most suitable.

Jewellery

I don’t believe it is particularly un-PC of me to claim that most women love jewellery. However, you need to carefully consider which item of jewellery to treat her to and this is where it becomes a little more difficult. With this in mind, you can’t go wrong with a pair of beautiful pearl earrings. They look classy, stunning and are a timeless classic. Many people are put off as they believe that they are too extravagant, but one thing that life has taught me is that you can never be too extravagant when buying a present for a special woman. If you have a little shop around then you can get a pair online for around £70 online.

Winter Boots

Every woman likes to think of herself as something of a fashionista, so with that in mind you need to be careful when you buy them items of clothing as their tastes will invariably differ from yours completely. What you might consider a stylish dress could just as easily be considered horrific and cheap by the fairer sex. That is why you are better off steering clear of buying her clothes. However, you can’t go wrong with a pair of winter boots; she can slip them on and enjoy warm and toasty feet for the rest of the festive season and beyond.

Digital Camera

It seems that more and more people are finally starting to appreciate the rewards that photography has to offer. Everyone is investing in a DSLR camera and, if you are a photography enthusiast like myself, it means that there is ever greater competition in the market. You can get a decent digital camera for upwards of £200. While this may seem like quite a hefty price tag, it is well worth the investment and is a great way to create physical memories of those beautiful moments that life has to offer.

Treat Her to a Romantic Weekend

This one is always a guaranteed winner that doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. While it is obviously going to be preferable to whisk her away to a romantic hotspot or some fun in the sun, a hotel or B & B closer to home can also be most pleasant. If you would like to make the moment that you give her this gift a little more romantic, then consider purchasing a gift voucher from somewhere like BedandBreakfast.com and popping it inside a card.

Dedicate a Terrific Lady Day!

If you are part of a family, then you'll be more than aware just how much your beautiful wife/girlfriend/partner does for all of you. That is why you should insist that on Boxing Day she simply puts her feet up and relaxes. Ideally you should treat her to a day at a spa and then spend your day cleaning up after Christmas Day and taking care of the kids. You will get bonus points if you are also able to take care of all of the cooking as well. While this isn't necessarily the most romantic present by itself, you know she'll appreciate it.
