Why Summer Camps Should Introduce Creative Technologies

Image
Working at a summer camp in Australia was one of the greatest times in my life; seeing Brisbane for the first time was an experience I’ll never forget and one day hope to try again. Let me start off by saying that I have absolutely no problem with the activities summer camps currently offer, many of which I consider essential such as physical and survival activities. But I also believe that there is something crucial missing from what summer camps offer young people, and that’s the encouragement of their creative spirit. This is something that didn’t occur to me until long after I’d arrived home. Around this time, Apple announced its own incarnation of summer camp, providing a three day workshop to teach children aged 8 to 12 about technology, as well as filmmaking, recording music, and designing webpages using al...

Get Fit for Summer - Learn to Run for Fun

Image
I have been thinking a lot of late about ramping up my fitness regime to shore up my stomach and ensure there's no unsightly wobbly bits should I dare to get my chest out in the sunshine! As a result I put together a little infographic on my tips to get yourself motivated enough to go running, and keep running. Basically everybody wants to get fit for Summer. However, there are a few tips you can utilise, as I've highlighted in my graphic...

Christmas Gift Ideas for Men

Image
Finding affordable gifts that your friends and family actually want can be difficult but my female friends are always saying that it is the men that are harder to buy for; partly because we always seem to have everything we want but also because we seem less bothered about it. Apparently us men make finding gift ideas an awkward task - nonsense! We are not that difficult to buy for surely? With so many computer games, music vouchers and gadgets out there it should certainly be getting easier. Whenever I ask my Mother what she wants for Christmas she always says: 'I'll know it when I see it,' and I know she is not alone in thinking that. It's her a polite way of saying I have absolutely no idea but am hoping something will jump out at me. Men are the same really but we just don't say it out loud. We don't tend to make lists and here is a top tip right away; we will generally like anything we can eat, drink, play or laugh at! Are Men Bothered? Finding a...
