The Weirdest, And Most Wonderful, Star Wars Gadgets Ever!
The Star Wars franchise is undoubtedly one of
the biggest in the entire world, indeed perhaps the universe. There are very
few people who haven’t seen the films multiple times, often from childhood to
adulthood.
Its part of the culture of multiple
generations of children, with so many toys and games constantly produced to
keep them happy. Over the years there have been some mad, and some amazing,
toys and gadgets released. So, let’s explore some of the best star wars gadgets
of recent memory.
Millennium Falcon Bed
Well, a great way to do that would be to hit the sack in this Millennium Falcon bed. It’s an awesome design, it looks kind of like a big bean bag but it has the firmness of a bed. It even has a little flap for storing your remote control and comes with a cuddly Jar-Jar Binks and Wookie!
The top of the bed is a thin layer which
serves as the duvet. The sheet underneath is actually has the blueprints of the
interior of the ship printed on it. How cool is that!
As if that weren't enough, there
are LED lights attached to the front of the bed for illumination in the deep
dark depths of space (your bedroom). The bed is made by a really cool designer,
Kayla Kromer, who came up with the Millennium Falcon bed and is
pictured above with a nice Leia costume.
The TIE Fighter Desktop
One of the most awesome things about the Star
Wars franchise is the amount video games it has produced. In fact, they have
been steadily releasing games since the 1980s when George Lucas invested in a
company, then known as LucasArts, to
create games
based on the franchise.
Well, what better way to play them than on
this TIE Fighter desktop. The internal components of the computer are housed
within the desk sized model of the iconic TIE Fighter – flown by the evil
Galactic Empire. Whether you’re on the light or dark side you’ll appreciate the
levels of design, simply pull up a chair and start gaming.
The Monitor is attached above, placed on a
glass desk surface, and it’s sure to be eye catching for visitors – not to
mention fun when playing against rivals online.
Storm Trooper 4GB USB Flash Drive
There are many places where expressing your
Star Wars fandom is somewhat inappropriate. You might like to come into work
dressed as Boba Fett, put it’s just not going to work out well – unless you
have an amazingly understanding boss.
You can still show off your fandom though, in
a much more subtle way. For example, when you’re at work you might well carry
some data around with you on a flash drive – well this Storm Trooper drive is
the perfect way to subtly keep the force with you, or at least in your pocket.
Its one of the most acceptable Star Wars gadgets I was
able to find, most likely considered acceptable to the most discerning of
bosses.
Star Wars Lamps
One of the coolest things about the Star Wars
franchise is the imagery. The lightsaber, the Death Star and many more iconic
symbols have sprung from it. There are many others too, perhaps ones notable to
only to the harder core fans.
Whilst we’re talking about the subtler things
Star Wars gadgets have to offer, these lamps are a good example. With the logos
of both the Imperial and Jedi forces subtly emblazoned across their black
shades, you’re likely to get enthusiastic responses from visitors familiar with
them who have noticed.
In fact, even bachelors should not shy away
from the Star
Wars lamps – the most geek hating of ladies that you might come across will
surely never notice the subtle symbols and consider them merely “cool logos”.
And if they do recognise them, they’re sure to be a fan too! Bonus!
Oh yeah, and you turn on the lamps from a
switch on the base which is shaped like a lightsaber handle!
Wompa Rug
Sometimes you’ve just got to think “Hey, this is me. I’m a Star Wars fan and
proud. If you can’t understand that, it’s on you”. When you embrace your
inner fandom, it’s much easier embrace the more striking Star Wars themed
merchandise that others might shy away from.
Take this Wompa
rug for example, a splayed out beast that has become a trophy from a galaxy
far, far away. It’s certainly a statement, but very comfortable to sit on and
you can always put it by the sofa and use the Wompa’s head as a footstool.
The corduroy horns and the vinyl claws make a
nice soft addition when watching the movies for the 1000th time. Oh
yeah, it’s non-slip too! Leia not included.
Weirdly Wonderful – Star Wars
There are so many different Star Wars gadgets
out there, it seems like every time I write about them there is a whole new
range of stuff out there that I have never seen before, but here you have my
analysis of the weirdest and most wonderful Star Wars gadgets the world, the
universe, has to offer.
Did I miss any; do you think there are some
weirder ones? Let me know by commenting. Don’t forget to check out the rest of
